It's a Leonard Cohen song I came to learn of only in the last couple of years. And in a nice contrast to the previous post, and in preparation for seeing Rufus Wainwright in concert in two weeks, I commend this to you (it is truly wonderful):
Oh, I just watched it. I didn't realize it was Rufus Wainwright singing the song. Yuck. I did not enjoy that. I thought it was a Cohen video. I'm afraid I don't share your enthusiasm for Wainwright.
Well, in fact I think he does some very special things, no surprise coming whence he comes. I have a ticket for the Music Hall here in Toronto June 12 and REALLY look forward to the show. He has a lovely tenor voice, and he certainly does not lack in experssing emotion. And he has a sense of humour. That sum wins me.
