Timothy Burke Addresses Some of my Puzzlement
Indeed, I had no pragmatism, other than trying not to be too badly brutalized by my neighbourhood Christians - and I more or less succeeded (but for a couple of incidents).I do wonder though how this pragmatism differs from "cynicism that helps me get elected for stuff".

I know some of you think that this vision is a kind of weakness in the face of malevolence. I just don’t see any choice.
