As we start another insanely snowy December in Toronto

It is worth seeing this 'documentary' that is very skeptical of global warming., via Little Green Footballs

I find the concern about CO2 on the face quite plausible, but also doubt anyone really knows - I suspect the climate models have about the quality of economic models, and I have worked on those!

Having a little experience in the 'hard' sciences
I am not inclined to regard anything as a science
unless one can perform controlled experiments
where all the variables are known,
small in number,
and can be precisely measured.

Global warming is not amongst the top 100 (or even 500) things
that might keep me awake at night
worrying about the future of humanity.

This weird mass hysteria eerily reminds me of my grandmother
a Jehovah's Witness
who used to terrify me
when I was four
with her descriptions
of the oncoming battle of Armageddon.

As for computer 'modelling'
my experience is that it works exactly like an Ouija board
as the hands unconsciously adjust the parameters
to obtain the result they are looking for.
