Stephen Gordon asks a Good Question againI recently had some maintenance work done on my house, and dealt with several construction subcontractors. The biggest difficulty was getting their time. Every one of them reported utterly full schedules. This ran counter to much of the mood being reported in the press at the time, but it was unmistakable, and there were even a couple of jobs I wanted done that I could not book.
Stephen Gordon is wondering who will do the work if our government decides to bring forth a stimulus package involving major infrastructure work.
As I noted earlier, unemployment in the construction sector is at an all-time low.
I'd be surprised to learn that this situation is in fact unique to Quebec.
