Flotilla Morning-After Hangover

Via Richard Landes, an interesting take from Joel Fishman. It is a good analysis of how the IDF blundered, and Landes summarizes it perfectly:
When an army that is vastly superior, but neither wants to be killed nor kill, meets an vastly inferior enemy who wants to kill and be killed, it behooves both participants and observers to understand why things go awry.
Those in love with death have an advantage; it is an advantage that cannot last past the widespread recognition of their mental disease, but we in the west still seem infected by another disease that blinds us to the facts.
