On my morning jog today, I saw a couple of Monarch butterflies, looking for nectar; they will need it, as it is likely that they are of the generation that will struggle to make its way back to Mexico. How do they do it? They are so small.There is an interesting publicity intiative underway that is worthy of some interest. Here is one nice article on the subject.

UPDATE: I spent Sunday afternoon in Port Stanley, on the north shore of Lake Erie. Several monarch butterfliess per minute were flying by, heading west. Back in Toronto now, I notice the occasional one heading west as well. They are on the way!
