Unlike Rondi, I am actually watching the CBC coverage of the Obama visit.
Harper is pretty smart - the expectation on Parliament Hill was that it would be almost impossible to see Obama under the planned protocols. As soon as the limo pulled up, Harper pulled Obama, who was entirely willing, to break the published protocol, and step out and wave to the gathered crowds, who were gathered in pretty fond hopes.
It was the right thing to do.
It remains true that it is an utter embarrassment to think that I have to pay for the CBC on the grounds that it resembles a news organization. Right now they are about as news-oriented as the Vatican. And guess who Jesus is?
