Oracle Eclipses the Sun

After a failed feint by IBM, Oracle announced its intention to absorb Sun Microsystems.
This is a nice little summary of the lay of the land in view of this.
My favorite line:

Fun times have arrived in an industry that frankly had gotten boring.

This will certainly be one of my favorite spectator sports in the future.
