It is the sport I actually played when young, though I certainly never developed any skills of reading fastballs versus cutters versus sliders, mostly because most of the pitchers I faced could not throw them.
But this fantastic visual essay explains a lot about the skills of Mariano Rivera. The graphics with which it closes are, as Russ Roberts h/ts, amazing.
