Yes, arrogance would be wrong. Pretentious is definitely the way to go.
This certainly takes "The Life of Pi" off the list of books I contemplate ever reading (not that it was ever high enough on my imaginary list to actually make it).Yann Martel is as mad as hell and he's not going to take it anymore.
