This Kid Has Courage

School bullying is no joke, and resistance to the bullies can be a long tough process.
Vandals targeted the Mississauga home of a bullied teen, pelting the property with eggs, condoms and other things.

"When I woke up my house had been egged, there was yogurt, coloured condoms and watermelon all over the driveway and the cars parked out front," Lindsay Hyde said yesterday.
...
Hyde and her mother came forward more than a week ago, complaining about a group of teens who were bullying Lindsay at West Credit Secondary School since classes started in the fall.

The bullying started with taunts about the clothing she wore and escalated until she was attacked on a bus in January.

One of the bullies is now before the courts and scrambling to defend herself.

The girl, who cannot be identified because she is under 18 and before the courts, said she was envious of the close relationship Lindsay had with her mom.

Appallingly, Lindsay is the only one to apparently pay much of a price so far.
The school board reacted by removing Lindsay from West Credit and arranging a work co-op placement for her.

Lindsay is not quitting.
"Sure this makes me feel more threatened," Lindsay said yesterday. "But I'm not going to shrink away and give in to them."

Gutsy kid, somewhat supine authorities, form the sounds of this article.
