I remember watching on of Attenborough's specials on Antarctica where he described the mating biology of the sea elephant. At the end I was so depressed for the male sea elephants. What a life! Im so happy Im a human---although I think youll agree that our mating behaviour has a lot of down side to it to---it can be a very hard life for anyone who doesnt find an extremely patient and tolerant partner.
