Universities against potentially cheating students. I must say the cheating options I recall were a lot more limited than described in this article.

No gum is allowed during an exam: chewing could disguise a student’s speaking into a hands-free cellphone to an accomplice outside.

I suppose this might have worked in the past with lip-reading students, though their staring at your mouth would be a tip-off.
