Say what one will about multiculturalism (I remain a person who believes that it CAN make some sense, but does not work with groups that choose not to reciprocate good tolerance), Toronto must be one of the finest places to experience the World Cup, with large and silly fanatical populations supporting several of the best teams. I even see cars with German flags driving around town right now!
Fortunately, the tiresome sport of ice hockey is unlikely to continue to intrude on the attention of local sports fans much longer, and our varied population will be able to focus completely on this truly major quadrennial event. We even have a large section of town behind Brazil! (A good team to be behind, even if Ronaldo is fat now.)
